Overview

Use TimeClock Plus (TCP) to record work study or student tutor hours worked. This article explains how to enter your hours, select the appropriate job code, verify the budget code, and approve your timesheet.

Prerequisites

To complete this task, you'll need:

  • An active Northwood Tech employee account.
  • Access to MyCampus.
  • Access to the TimeClock Plus (TCP) application.
  • Your assigned work study or student tutor position.

Before You Begin

Keep the following in mind before entering your time:

  • Verify the Budget Code before saving your entry.
  • Record meal breaks using the Break break type when applicable.
⚠️ Important: Select the job code that matches your employment type and enrollment status. If you are unsure which job code to use, contact your supervisor before submitting your timesheet.

Instructions

Access Your Timesheet

  1. Sign in to MyCampus.
  2. Click the TimeClock Plus (TCP) app.
  3. Click the Menu (three horizontal lines) in the upper-left corner.

Enter Work Study or Student Tutor Time

  1. Select Manage Time Sheet.
  2. Navigate to the appropriate date.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Enter the Time In and Time Out.
  5. If you took a meal break, select Break as the Break Type.
    • If you did not take a meal break, leave Break Type set to None.
  6. Select the appropriate Job Code.
  7. Verify the Budget Code.
    • If the budget code is correct, leave it as is.
    • To change it, begin typing the budget code or click Select to search for and choose the correct code.
  8. Click Save.
📝 Note: If you take a meal break, record your lunch by creating separate time entries before and after the break. Select Break as the Break Type for the applicable segment(s). If no meal break is taken, leave the Break Type set to None.

Work Study and Student Tutor Job Codes

Job Code When to Use
Work Study (20) Work study employee enrolled at least half-time.
Work Study FICA (21) Work study employee enrolled less than half-time.
Work Study Comm Serv (31) Community partner work study employee enrolled at least half-time.
Work Study Comm FICA (32) Community partner work study employee enrolled less than half-time.
Tutor Non-WS FICA (36) Tutor not funded by work study and enrolled less than half-time.
Tutor Non Work Study (37) Tutor not funded by work study and enrolled at least half-time.
Tutor Work Study (62) Tutor funded by work study and enrolled at least half-time.
Tutor Work Study FICA (63) Tutor funded by work study and enrolled less than half-time.

Approve Your Timesheet

After entering your hours:

  • To approve a single day, select the Approve checkbox for that day.
  • To approve the entire week, click Approve Week.

Verify Supervisor Approval

To check whether your time has been approved:

  1. Select View > Hours.
  2. Locate your time entry.

Supervisor approval is indicated by the following status icons:

Status Description
Green Check Mark Approved by your supervisor.
Red X Waiting for supervisor approval.

Troubleshooting

I'm not sure which job code to select

Review the job code table above. If you're still unsure which job code applies to your position or enrollment status, contact your supervisor before submitting your timesheet.

The wrong budget code is displayed

Edit the Budget Code field by typing the correct code or selecting it from the list before saving your entry.

My time hasn't been approved

Review the approval status in View > Hours. If the entry is still awaiting approval, contact your supervisor.
