Wi-Fi: Connect an iPhone or iPad (Employee)

Overview

This article explains how Northwood Tech employees can connect an iPhone or iPad to the NorthwoodWN wireless network using their Northwood Tech ID number and MyCampus password.

Key Information

Before connecting your iPhone or iPad to NorthwoodWN:

  • NorthwoodWN is the wireless network for Northwood Tech employees.
  • You will need your Northwood Tech ID number and MyCampus password.
  • You may be prompted to trust a security certificate when connecting for the first time.
  • The steps may vary slightly depending on your iOS or iPadOS version.
📝 Note: You may only be prompted to trust the security certificate the first time you connect to NorthwoodWN.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you'll need:

  • An iPhone or iPad.
  • An active Northwood Tech employee account.
  • Your Northwood Tech ID number.
  • Your MyCampus password.
  • Wi-Fi enabled on your device.

Instructions

Connect to NorthwoodWN

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.Tap NorthwoodWN.

     
  3. Enter your Northwood Tech ID number and password.
  4. Tap the blue check mark in the upper right-hand corner.

     
  5. Tap Trust.

     
  6. Your device is now connected to the Northwood Tech wireless network.

Troubleshooting

I can't sign in to the Wi-Fi network

Try the following:

  • Verify that you're entering your Northwood Tech ID number, not your email address.
  • Verify that your MyCampus password is correct.
  • Sign in to MyCampus to confirm that your credentials are working.
  • If you recently changed your password, use your new password.

My iPhone or iPad won't connect to NorthwoodWN

Try the following:

  • Verify that Wi-Fi is enabled.
  • Turn Wi-Fi off, then back on.
  • Tap NorthwoodWN and try connecting again.
  • Forget the NorthwoodWN network and try connecting again.
  • Restart your device and try again.

I'm prompted to trust a certificate

If prompted to verify the Northwood Tech wireless certificate:

  • Review the certificate information.
  • Tap Trust to complete the connection.
💡 Tip: You may only see the certificate prompt the first time you connect to NorthwoodWN.

My iPhone or iPad needs an update

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap General.
  • Tap Software Update.
  • Install any available iOS updates.
  • Try connecting again after the update is complete.

My iPhone or iPad is frozen or unresponsive

If your device has Face ID (no Home button):

  1. Quickly press and release the Volume Up button.
  2. Quickly press and release the Volume Down button.
  3. Press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears.

If your device has a Home button:

  1. Press and hold both the Home button and the Top (or Side) button.
  2. Continue holding both buttons until the Apple logo appears.
