Overview
This article explains how Northwood Tech employees can connect an Android device to the NorthwoodWN wireless network using their Northwood Tech ID and MyCampus password.
Key Information
Before connecting your Android device to NorthwoodWN:
- NorthwoodWN is the wireless network for Northwood Tech employees.
- You will need your Northwood Tech ID number and MyCampus password.
- Your Android device may display different Wi-Fi options depending on the manufacturer and Android version.
- You must select Don't validate for the CA certificate when prompted.
📝 Note: The names or locations of Wi-Fi settings may vary depending on your Android device and version. If your options look different from the steps below, look for the equivalent Wi-Fi, security, or certificate settings.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, you'll need:
- An active Northwood Tech employee account.
- Your Northwood Tech ID number.
- Your MyCampus password.
- An Android device with Wi-Fi capability.
Instructions
Connect to NorthwoodWN
- Swipe down from the top of your Android device to open the Quick Settings panel.
- Tap Wi-Fi.

- Select NorthwoodWN, from the list of available networks.

- Enter your employee ID number, in the Identity field.
- Enter your MyCampus password, in the Password field.
- Select Don't validate, for CA certificate.
- Tap Connect.

- Verify that your device is connected to NorthwoodWN.
- Open a web browser and navigate to a website to test your connection.
Troubleshooting
NorthwoodWN does not appear in the list of available networks
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.
- Move closer to a Northwood Tech wireless access point.
- Turn Wi-Fi off and back on.
- Restart your Android device and try again
My credentials are not working
- Verify that you are entering your Northwood Tech ID number rather than your email address.
- Verify that your MyCampus password is correct.
- If you recently changed your password, use your new password.
My device will not connect
- Verify CA certificate is set to Don't validate.
- Forget the NorthwoodWN network and try connecting again.
- Restart your device and try again.
My Android device asks for additional security information
Android devices may display additional authentication or certificate options depending on the device and Android version.
- Review the available Wi-Fi settings.
- Verify that you're connecting to NorthwoodWN.
- Make sure CA certificate is set to Don't validate when that option is available.
