Overview
Students may drop classes through MyNorthwoodTech. However, dropping a class or withdrawing from all classes may affect financial aid, academic progress, insurance eligibility, and other aspects of your student record.
This article explains how to drop a class and provides important information to consider before completing the process.

- Dropping a class or withdrawing from all classes may affect:
- Financial aid (including veterans' benefits, if applicable)
- Eligibility to remain on a parent's insurance plan
- Program progression
- Graduation requirements
- If you are swapping one course for another, contact Student Services before dropping the course to avoid drop fees.

Prerequisites
Before you begin, you'll need:
- An active Northwood Tech student account
- Your MyNorthwoodTech username and password
- Access to MyNorthwoodTech
Instructions
Drop a Class
- Go to www.northwoodtech.edu.
- Click MyNorthwoodTech.
- Open your Enrollment Shopping Cart for the appropriate term.
- Click Enroll.
- Click Drop.
- Select the academic term.
- Select the checkbox next to the class or classes you want to drop.
- Click Drop Selected Class.
- Click the magnifying glass to select a Drop Reason.
- Click Finish Dropping.
- Review the confirmation page.
A successful drop will display a green checkmark confirming that the class has been dropped.
Troubleshooting
I received an error while dropping my class
Try the following:
- Verify that you've selected a drop reason.
- Refresh the page and try again.
- If the error continues, contact Student Services.
I want to swap one class for another
Try the following:
- Contact Student Services before dropping your class.
- Do not drop the class yourself if you intend to replace it with another course, as drop fees may apply.
I'm concerned about how dropping a class will affect me
Try the following:
- Schedule an appointment with Student Services by calling 800-243-9482.
- Review the withdrawal information in the Student Handbook before completing the drop.
