Student Financials: Add, Edit, or Delete a Payment Method

Overview

eAccount Management allows students to manage saved payment methods, including credit cards and electronic checks (ACH). This article explains how to add a new payment method, update an existing payment method, or remove a payment method that is no longer needed.

Key Information

  • Payment methods can be managed through eAccount Management in MyNorthwoodTech.
  • You can add, edit, or delete saved payment methods.
  • Payment methods may include credit cards, checking accounts, or savings accounts.
  • Payment methods attached to an active payment plan require additional steps before they can be removed.
💡 Tip: Before deleting an old payment method, verify that it is not connected to an active payment plan.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you'll need:

  • An active Northwood Tech student account
  • Your MyNorthwoodTech username and password
  • Access to eAccount Management
  • A supported web browser with pop-ups enabled

Instructions

Access eAccount Management

  1. Go to www.northwoodtech.edu.
  2. Click MyNorthwoodTech.
  3. Sign in to MyNorthwoodTech using your student ID and password.
  4. From the Student Homepage, select one of the following:
    • eAccount Management tile, or
    • Student Center > Finances > eAccount Management
  5. If prompted, sign in to eAccount Management using the same credentials you use for MyNorthwoodTech.

View Saved Payment Methods

  1. Click My Profile Setup.
  2. Click My Payment Profile.
  3. Review your saved payment methods.

Add a New Payment Method

  1. Click Add New Payment Method.
  2. From the Select Payment Method drop-down menu, choose the type of payment method you want to add.
  3. Enter the required information.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. If you selected Electronic Check (ACH), review the agreement.
  6. Select I Agree and then click Continue.
  7. A confirmation message will appear indicating that your payment method has been saved.

Edit an Existing Payment Method

  1. Locate the payment method you want to update.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Update the necessary information.
  4. Click Save.

Delete an Existing Payment Method

  1. Select the payment method you want to remove.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Review the confirmation message.
  4. Click OK to permanently remove the payment method, or click Cancel to keep it.
⭐ Important: If the payment method is attached to an active payment plan, do not delete it until you have linked a new payment method to the payment plan. See Student Accounts: Schedule Future Payments for additional instructions.

Troubleshooting

I can't access eAccount Management

Try the following:

  • Verify that your browser allows pop-ups.
  • Try a different browser, such as Edge, Firefox, or Chrome.
  • Open an Incognito or InPrivate browsing window.
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies.

I can't edit or delete my payment method

Try the following:

  • Verify that the payment method is not attached to an active payment plan.
  • Add a new payment method and link it to your payment plan before deleting the old payment method.
  • Refresh the page and try again.

My changes were not saved

Try the following:

  • Verify that all required fields have been completed.
  • Confirm that you selected Save or Continue.
  • Sign out and sign back in to eAccount Management.
