Overview
Kanopy is Northwood Tech's streaming video service, providing access to educational films, documentaries, and other video content. When accessing Kanopy from an off-campus location, you'll need to authenticate using your Northwood Tech account.
This article explains how to sign in to Kanopy and access library streaming content from off campus.
Key Information
- Kanopy is available to Northwood Tech students through the Library.
- Off-campus access requires you to sign in using your Northwood Tech account.
- Use the same username and password that you use for MyCampus.
- If your instructor provides a direct link to a Kanopy video, you'll still need to sign in before viewing the content
📝 Note: Do not select the Log In option in the Kanopy toolbar. Always select the orange Log In to Northwood Tech button to access library resources.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, you'll need:
- An active Northwood Tech account
- Your MyCampus username and password
- An internet connection
- A supported web browser
- Access to Kanopy through MyCampus, the Northwood Tech Library website, or a direct Kanopy link provided by your instructor
Instructions
Sign In to Kanopy
- Sign in to MyCampus.
- Open the Apps dashboard.
- Click Kanopy.
- Click Log In to Northwood Tech.
- Enter your ID number and password.
- Click Login.
Troubleshooting
I can't sign in to Kanopy
Try the following:
- Verify that you're using your MyCampus username and password.
- Verify that your Northwood Tech account is active.
- Close your browser and try signing in again.
I clicked the wrong Log In button
Try the following:
- Return to the Kanopy home page.
- Click the orange Log In to Northwood Tech button.
- Sign in using your Northwood Tech credentials.
I can't access a video
Try the following:
- Verify that you're signed in to Kanopy.
- Refresh the page.
- Try a different supported web browser.
- Open Kanopy in an Incognito or Private Browsing window.
I'm still unable to access Kanopy
Try the following:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.
- Restart your browser.
- Contact the Library or the IT Service Desk for assistance.
