Overview
This article provides instructions for logging into a Northwood Tech checkout laptop for the first time. It includes steps for both on-campus pickup and devices mailed directly to users, including connecting to Wi-Fi, signing in with Northwood Tech credentials, and completing the initial login process before using the device.
Prerequisites
Before logging into your checkout laptop for the first time, ensure you have the following:
- Your Northwood Tech account must be activated
- Access to a Wi-Fi or internet connection
- The checkout laptop issued to you by Northwood Tech
- Your home Wi-Fi network name and password (for devices mailed to you)
For on-campus pickups, it is recommended that you complete the initial login process before leaving campus.
Instructions
Pickup Device
- Stop by iTLC or the IT Service Desk to pick up your laptop.
- This varies depending on the location you are picking up the laptop.
- Enter your Northwood Tech ID number and password.
- Tap Enter.
- Once you get home, you can connect the laptop to your home internet.
Mailed Device
- Connect the device to your home Wi-Fi.
- From the login screen, click 🛜 in the lower right-hand corner.
- Choose your home network.
- Enter your password for your home network.
- Click the Icon below (from the device login screen).

- Enter your Northwood Tech ID number and password.
Click OK.

- Return to the login screen.
- Enter your Northwood Tech ID number and password.
- Click Enter.
