Library Research Databases: Access from Off Campus

Overview

Northwood Tech students can access the Library's online research databases both on and off campus. When accessing these resources from home or another off-campus location, you'll be prompted to sign in using your Northwood Tech credentials.

  • Library research databases are available from both on and off campus.
  • Most databases use your Northwood Tech student ID number and MyCampus password for authentication.
  • Some databases use an alternate login page labeled BadgerLink.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you'll need:

  • An active Northwood Tech student account
  • Your student ID number
  • Your MyCampus password
  • An internet connection

Instructions

Standard Login Process

  1. Go to the Research Databases webpage.
  2. Click the database you want to access.
  3. When prompted, enter your:
    • Student ID number
    • MyCampus password
  4. Click Login.

Alternative Login Process (BadgerLink)

Some research databases display a BadgerLink login page instead of the standard Northwood Tech sign-in page.

  1. Go to the Research Databases webpage.
  2. Click the database you want to access.
  3. Click Login, for immediate access.
  4. Select the Northwood Tech Campus from the drop-down list.
    • Example: Superior – Northwood Technical College
  5. For the Library Barcode, enter north followed by your ID number.
    • Example: north12345678
  6. Click Login.
📝 Note: Only use the Alternative Login Process if the database displays the BadgerLink login page.

Troubleshooting

I can't sign in

Try the following:

  • Verify that you're entering your student ID number correctly.
  • Verify that you're using your MyCampus password.
  • Try signing in again.

I see the BadgerLink login page instead of the Northwood Tech login page

Try the following:

  • Follow the Alternative Login Process in this article.
  • Verify that you've selected the correct Northwood Tech campus.
  • Enter north immediately before your student ID number when prompted for your library barcode.

I still can't access the database

Try the following:

  • Refresh your browser and try again.
  • Open the database in an Incognito or Private Browsing window.
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies.
  • Try a different supported web browser.
