Troubleshooting
I don't see the Install apps button
- Verify you are signed in with your Northwood Tech email address and MyCampus password.
- Confirm you selected Microsoft 365 from the Microsoft App Launcher.
- If the Install apps button is still unavailable, your account may not be licensed for Microsoft 365 or your access may not yet be active. Contact the Service Desk for assistance.
The download didn't start
- Check your browser's Downloads folder or download history to see if the file was blocked or is waiting for approval.
- Make sure your browser isn't blocking pop-up windows or downloads.
- Try downloading the installer again.
- If the download still doesn't begin, try a different supported web browser.
OfficeSetup.exe won't open
- Locate the downloaded OfficeSetup.exe file in your Downloads folder.
- Double-click the file to start the installation.
- If Windows displays a security warning, select Run if you trust the file.
- If the file still won't open, delete the downloaded file and download it again.
- Restart your computer and try the installation again.
The installation is taking a long time or appears stuck
- Installation time varies depending on your internet connection and computer performance.
- Wait several minutes to see if the installation resumes.
- Verify you have a stable internet connection.
- Close unnecessary applications to improve performance.
- If the installation remains unresponsive for an extended period, restart your computer and begin the installation again.
I'm prompted for administrator credentials
- Some computers require administrator permission to install software.
- If you're using a Northwood Tech-managed device, you may need assistance from Information Technology.
- If you're using a personal computer, sign in with an administrator account or contact the device owner for assistance.
I can't sign in after installation
- Verify you're signing in with your Northwood Tech email address, not a personal Microsoft account.
- Make sure you're using your current MyCampus password.
- If you've recently changed your password, wait a few minutes and try again.
- If you're still unable to sign in, reset your password or contact the Service Desk.
I've reached my five-device installation limit
- Microsoft 365 allows installation on up to five devices per user account.
- Sign in to your Microsoft account and remove a device you no longer use.
- Once a device has been removed, try the installation again.
- If you need assistance managing your devices, contact the Service Desk.
I already have an older version of Microsoft Office installed
- Microsoft 365 can often be installed alongside older versions of Office, but doing so may cause unexpected behavior.
- For the best experience, uninstall older versions of Microsoft Office before installing Microsoft 365.
- Restart your computer after uninstalling Office, then begin the Microsoft 365 installation.
Microsoft Access isn't available on my Mac
- Microsoft Access is only available for Windows computers.
- If you need to use Microsoft Access, install Microsoft 365 on a Windows PC.
- Mac users can still install and use other Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
Still having trouble? If you're unable to install Microsoft 365 after following the steps and troubleshooting guidance above, please submit a Service Desk ticket. Include any error messages or screenshots, if available, so we can assist you as quickly as possible.
