Technology Lending Guidelines

How to Participate

  1. Complete a Technology Lending Agreement before borrowing.
  2. Devices are available on a first-come, first-served basis and one per user.
  3. A technician will follow up via e-mail to schedule a pickup date.

Loan Terms

  1. Return Policy
    • Mi-Fi’s: Devices must be returned by the end of the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
    • General Students: Devices must be returned by the end of the Spring term or upon withdrawal.
    • Architectural/Program Students: Devices must be returned by the end of the Fall and Spring terms or upon withdrawal.
    • Returns must be made directly to the iTLC or Tech Service Desk staff (no drop boxes). For mail returns, please contact your campus iTLC or Tech Service Desk for the address and shipping requirements.
  2. Failure to Return and/or Damages
    • A hold will be placed on your account, preventing registration or graduation until the device is returned.
    • Replacement charges (up to the cost of the device) and additional collection fees may apply.
    • Repair costs, up to $3,200, may be charged for any damage incurred.

Responsibilities

  1. Borrowed devices remain the property of Northwood Technical College and are subject to all College policies, including the including the Deliquent Customer Account Policy (Policy 310), Internet/E-mail Acceptable Use Policy (page 182), and Code of Conduct Policy (page 194).
  2. You are responsible for:
    • Preventing unauthorized access, sharing, or duplication of software.
    • Never leave the device unattended.
    • Saving your work using personal storage methods (e.g., email, OneDrive, or USB).
    • Files on the device will be erased after the device is returned. Northwood Tech is not responsible for lost or damaged files.
    • Unauthorized use of College software or technology is prohibited.
